 Blues For George Michael

Martin's notes: My favourite thing about this is that more people own this than most of our other records put together. I don’t know how many people who bought ‘Wake Up Boo!’ actually listened to the b-side but a few must have. This was the second version we did. I think it’s wonderful. Tim had really got the hang of producing and his stuff sounds great. My bits sound a bit psychotic. I was congratulating George on sticking it to the man. I must have known him better than I thought I did.
Lyrics: When I woke up mind was made up hair was stuck out to the sky. Sleep made my arm sleep like the big sleep that was stuck inside my eye. You are the one, brave but foolish. Here are my shoes. I'd put the world to rights in time, I would, I would. Hey George Michael you don't know me but I know you very well, they can't take that away from you - that I'd be here if you fell. You are the one. Though you won't care, here is my heart. They'll be dead and gone in time, but not you. Rid my body of these pressures, put my mind to rest. Suck these noises from my head, please leave the best to last. Cloak me in a silent movie. Take away my crown. Take a brush and sweep away the shadows that have grown all around my ears, all around my eyes. Naked as I crawl to bed, as the new day appears I've drunk the stuff down. I feel better, I feel stronger.
