 The White Noise Revisited

Martin's notes: The White Noise Revisited was the second song I wrote with a capo on that day off. I like the 'fashioned by the blade..' line, that was always one of my favourites. I remember Tim was suffering from a massive spot while he was doing the bass for this one. He accused us of staring at his spot when we talked to him and we accused him of using it to play the droney bassline. I knew what the album was going to be by this point and I thought if it was going to be that over the top we might as well go for the big closing tune, send everyone warm to their beds. We got loads of people in to sing but couldn't come up with any harmonies to sing so everyone bangs along on the same tune. I still can't think of any listening to it now.
Lyrics: Hey! What's that noise? Do you remember? Kill yourself at work for what seems nothing at all, then you go home and you cry and you feel so very small, so you listen to The Beatles and relax and close your eyes, and you feel it running through you, feel the hate well up inside. Hey! What's that noise? Do you remember? Fashioned by the blade of a world that doesn't care, feeling so removed, drifting through, stealing air. Then... Pause and think about it, try to move and shift the scream, and feel alive. Hey! What's that noise? Do you remember?
